If you want a strong, healthy, and beautiful smile, then you need to properly clean it at least twice each day. To help you brush your teeth with a proper and correct tooth-brushing technique, our Stone Lake Dental team recommends doing the following steps:

Step 1: As you clean your smile, hold your brush at a 45-degree angle to the gums. Then, gently move the brush back and forth, in short, tooth-wide strokes.

Step 2: Brush the entire enamel of each tooth, including the inner, outer, and chewing surface. To clean the insides of the teeth, hold the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes.

Step 3: When you are done brushing your teeth, brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen your breath.

Please remember that the brushing technique alone cannot completely remove the plaque and food particles from your smile. You also need to floss and rinse. In addition, no matter what oral hygiene products you use to clean your smile, please make sure they have been approved by the American Dental Association. The ADA Seal of Approval proves that the product is safe and effective. As you brush, please use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.
